Department Introduction

The Department of Early Childhood Education is dedicated to the advancement of early childhood education by nurturing professionals with strong competencies in curriculum development and child care. Emphasizing both humanistic and artistic literacy, we aim to cultivate well-rounded educators and leaders equipped to meet the evolving needs of young learners and the broader educational community.

            Cultivation Goals

 To cultivate professionals in early childhood education with in-depth expertise in curriculum planning, instruction, and child care, alongside a solid foundation in humanistic and artistic literacy.

 To develop leaders and administrators for the early childhood education sector, as well as professionals for related cultural and educational industries.

 To train educators and researchers in early childhood education who can contribute to vocational high schools, colleges, and universities.

 To enhance research in early childhood education and child development in Taiwan, while promoting interdisciplinary and international academic exchange.

 To support the ongoing professional development of early childhood educators, improving their teaching practices and research capabilities.

            Educational Objectives

 To prepare qualified professionals in early childhood education and care.

 To cultivate skilled talent to meet the needs of the early childhood education industry.

            Core Competencies

Graduates of the program are expected to possess the following core competencies:

 A solid grounding in educational philosophy to inform and evaluate teaching practices.

 The ability to design and implement integrated curricula and instructional activities tailored to the developmental needs of young children.

 The capacity to incorporate humanistic and artistic literacy into curriculum planning and activity design.

 The skills to create and manage developmentally appropriate learning environments.

 Proficiency in employing diverse and effective assessment strategies.

 Classroom management skills that support child-centered, interactive learning relationships.

 The ability to foster strong home–school partnerships, supporting parents in understanding and engaging with their children’s learning and development.

 A commitment to innovation and lifelong learning, aimed at enhancing instructional effectiveness and educational quality.

 A reflective, compassionate, and dedicated approach to holistic education, grounded in a deep sense of humanistic care and professional responsibility.
